Trina Peck
for Wentzville
School Board
Innovate, Educate, Elevate!
My name is Trina Peck, and I am a candidate for the Wentzville School Board. I'm a mother of three, a resident of the Wentzville school district, and I have been a resident of St. Charles County for 23 years. I am running because I believe that public education benefits us all as a society.
I believe that our children deserve a solid foundation and a rigorous academic curriculum that prepares them for success in today’s global economy. This includes access to the most innovative technologies and resources necessary for success.
All three of my sons attended public schools in St. Charles County. I am proud to say that my two youngest are continuing their education and working towards their undergraduate degrees. My oldest son had a different path. He suffered a traumatic brain injury in 2006 at the age of 13. Due to his injury, he had special education needs. I served as his education advocate which made me keenly aware of the unique challenges that special needs students face. As a member of the school board, I will make decisions in the best interest of all students in the district.
I served as a substitute teacher in both the Fort Zumwalt and Francis Howell school districts. That experience enlightened me to some of the issues that our teachers face. I strongly feel that children need engaged parents working with and supporting teachers and support staff to reach their academic potential. I will always elevate teachers and support staff because we require their expertise to meet the complex needs and requirements of our diverse district.
I have an IT Analyst background that includes solving complex problems in a team-based environment. I'm adept at working with a diverse group of individuals, gathering consensus from every level of the organization on a daily basis.
And I'm a fighter. I will fight for what's right for students, teachers, and support staff.
